"The Rime of the Ancient Mariner"

And we all read this in school...here it goes...the paragraph that we quote..

"Water, water, every where,
And all the boards did shrink ;
Water, water, every where,
Nor any drop to drink. "

I fear water..as evident from my post when we went for canoeing...and its not like I do not know how to swim, I do. Infact, I learnt swimming at a rather early age..I was 8 or 9. But there is something about these unknown turfs that scare me. And if I am stuck alone...in the middle...that can be my scariest day. I admit!!!

There's a book I recently read...and just so I never forget these survival tips if I am surviving in the sea after a shipwreck by myself...I am going to write my version of it to an extent..
  • Do not ever drink sea water or your urine or bird blood - Totally outta question!! Never never!!
  • Pressing the eyes of fish will paralyze them - Ok this is a good one.. :)
  • Ignorance is the worst doctor, while rest and sleep are the best nurses. The body can be a hero in battle. Aahhh...I like it.
  • Play cards..do whatever...but keep your mind occupied. Singing might help raise spirits. I can do that "exceptionally" well!!
  • If you are feeling hot, wet your clothes. Do not go for a swim, it would waste energy - No way, the sea could be dangerous.
  • This ones my fav - Do not urinate in your clothes for momentary happiness, the nappy rash aint worth it!! :)
  • If you do not sweat too much, then the body can last without water for 14 days. Yippeeee..and it also says - If thirsty, suck a button. You serious??!!

And there were some more - green water is shallower than blue, do not eat jelly fish or fishes with spikes, turtle could make up for an excellent meal (their blood, flesh, fat and eggs everything...yikes), shelter yourself.....blah blaaah.

And lastly the most important..."Don't let your flag down" :D

..."O Wedding Guest! this soul hath been

Alone on a wide wide sea:

So lonely 'twas, that God himself

Scarce seem-ed there to be. "
