May be....may be not...

Just some random thoughts crossed my mind today...was wondering what would people be regretting...so I am putting em down...perhaps some of them even I do :P

  1. Have you ever regretted raising your voice with your parents?
  2. Have you ever regretted secretly stealing your sibling's chocolate from the fridge and then made up for it sometime later?
  3. Have you ever regretted making the first move with your crushes?
  4. Have you ever regretted getting sloshed - when that was the one evening you never wanted to be?
  5. Have you ever regretted bunking a class for a movie?
  6. Have you ever regretted not keeping in touch with a friend you often think about?
  7. Have you ever regretted conceiving children early?
  8. Have you ever regretted creating a scene unnecessarily?
  9. Have you ever regretted being an over enthusiast?
  10. Have you ever regretted beating your pet?
  11. Have you ever regretted letting loose in front of complete strangers?
  12. Have you ever regretted dating some complete fools and then rushing out of it like you woke up after a nightmare?
  13. Have you ever regretted not being able to make it to a friends party/ wedding?
  14. Have you ever regretted failing your exams?
  15. Have you ever regretted over-eating?
  16. Have you ever regretted shopping more than what you require?
  17. Have you ever regretted eating road side food?
  18. Have you ever regretted being a part of a fairly loud group?
  19. Have you ever regretted dressing too formally?
  20. Have you ever regretted telling a lie?
  21. Have you ever regretted hitch-hiking?
  22. Have you ever regretted being lazy?
  23. Have you ever regretted smoking?
  24. Have you ever regretted breaking someones heart?
  25. And lastly, have you ever regretted distrusting your gut?

So, I am guilty of some of the things I mentioned. Would be interesting to know what could be some of the other possible regrets of people...hmmm...

Mother-Wife confusion and the Pen that makes you stronger !!

We were hanging out at a friend's place who had invited us for brunch. The lady host started making "garam garam" dosas and served it one at a time so we could all eat it hot. I love that concept, I think mainly because that is how my ma has always been. Serving us hot food, while she cooks. However, pa and ma would exchange places once he is through so he could make chapatis for her while she sat down to eat. Of course, this does not happen 100% of the time, as there are days when we insist that ma makes chapatis for all and sit with us on the table.

So anyway, we all began to discuss how "most" women (subject to personal choices) like to serve hot food and it's obviously something we inherit from our mothers. The "lady host" could not help but say - which is why men sometimes give their wives "Happy Mother's day" cards. I instantly wanted to say - WTF?? but I resisted and said - What?? with the wildest expression on my face. As much as the host's husband disagreed with his wife...she insisted it's normal.

I am still wondering if she should have considered "adoption" ;).

On another front, I met young mothers lately with their cute kids aged 3-5 years. In comes a cutie who has just learnt 3 letter words at school. So he is busy scribbling - PAN, HOT, HAM etc on a sheet of paper with a sketch pen. He then takes this pen in his hand and shows it to his mom and asks (full American accent) - "Ma, why don't we have this pen at home? My teacher told me these pens are good!" I looked at the mom and smiled - told her its time to change stationary at home, the ones you get are not good enough apparently :). And then, he puts the cap on the sketch pen, puts it in his pocket like a gentleman and says - "See Ma, it makes me stronger."

Hahaha...I repeated the lines like a fool and the kid felt really shy. But I loved it, I had not heard something as innocent as that in a very long time. God bless!!

Opened a bank account, Free membership and Pojj's busy schedule...

This time...I just wanted to write about three things that have taken place starting this week. I just realized that two of them make me want to smile and the third not so much. That is also because my schedule is fairly flexible and mostly free... :( which I am hoping is going to change very soon. Pray Pray!!

Opened a bank account - So I am happy, not every time I need to finish off chores in my new neighbourhood in US do I need the car (which I do not have - mind you, but that just means another lift with a friend...phew!!). So, I could walk down to the bank for the third time. Why the third time, because I was misinformed the first time about the documents required to open a bank account, and so my second walking trip was a total WASTE. I hate this...and then they call themselves the Gurus of service. Anyway, so the good news is I have been able to open it...this helps me finish my other chores linked to opening a bank account. Happy I am...tra la la la... :)

Free workout membership - Since the time I have reached here, I just want to join like a fitness club. Some place which teaches yoga, aerobics and the likes...and guess what ..the basement of our apartment has it :) wowie....I went there to find out that I could avail a free membership for 7 days. Well that is a lot to make up my mind. Let me briefly tell you what services I could avail of
  • Body Sculpt: Free weights and exercise bands are used to tone, sculpt and strengthen the whole body.
  • Boot Camp: Cardiovascular segments combined with high intensity drills utilizing bands, steps and weights.
  • Cardio Dance: An aerobic workout utilizing dance steps and easy to follow patterns. Okay I like this one ;)
  • H.A.B.I.T: A class that focuses on hips, abs, butt and inner thigh. A great calorie burning work out!! Yuhooooo (I am not particularly fond of the name though - but that should not matter)
  • Pilates: It stresses on core strength of body toning, rings, balls, bands and rollers are incorporated to add intensity. Hmmmm..
  • Yoga: Utilizes movement, breathing, stretching and balance to increase flexibility and reduce stress. Think I am going to go for it..in foreign land..what an irony!!
  • Zumba: Dance with Latin music, it fun and easy way to burn up all calories...wohooo!!

Of course, Pojj has been keeping extremely busy. He is barely getting 6 hours of sleep and the rest of the time he is just in his calls/ mailing people or travelling. Hmm...just before he slips into bed he tells me -Sorry..I have to find a way to beat all this and spend more time with you. :( I can not even let him finish this sentence and fall for him all over again. I understand there are such days...it could be me on the other side someday...
